About Us
With an emphasis on educating and shaping inventive, reflective, and compassionate theatre artists, Theatre 308 provides an artistic playground for DHS students, empowering them to develop their own unique artistic identities through direct collaboration, a strong sense of community, and exposure to both contemporary and classic dramatic texts.
Theatre 308 is proud to be a student-run organization. We provide training in all areas of theater -- performance, design, promotion & management -- through weekly meetings, workshops, speakers, and outings. We produce three major performances each year: a drama, a piece of musical theater, and a student-directed and produced one-act festival. We also provide students monthly social activities centered on theater arts.
OUr HIstory
Since its establishment in the 1970s, Theatre 308 has been an integral part of the Darien High School community. Theatre 308’s name originates from when the company entered drama competitions on state and national levels. During this time, the club was part of the National Thespians’ 308th Sector, prompting the current name of DHS’s well-known theatre program.
